Aiken2025 is a nonpartisan, citizen-led initiative formed out of deep concern for the future direction of Aiken, South Carolina. With four of seven City Council seats up for election this year, 2025 presents an extraordinary opportunity to reshape how the local government serves the people. It is time for leadership that listens, plans wisely, and acts with integrity.

We are united by the conviction that Aiken deserves better dialogue, policies, and representation. Aiken2025 envisions a city government that is ethical, accountable, and strategic. One that protects Aiken’s unique character while embracing a thoughtful, long-term approach to growth and development.
AIKEN CITY ELECTIONS 2025
In the upcoming election, four of the seven City Council seats will be contested, offering an excellent opportunity to articulate new standards and encourage prospective leaders to embrace them. As Aiken prepares for this change, it is vital for a diverse group of quality candidates to run – and get elected! That’s why Aiken2025 aims to provide a voice of reason and hope through this platform, promoting community involvement ahead of the City Council Primaries.

The Aiken City Election Primaries will take place on August 12th, 2025. As this date approaches rapidly, candidates must submit their formal candidacy by July 7th, 2025.
PROMOTING A SET OF STANDARDS
After significant dialogue and caucusing across a variety of community members, Aiken2025 has constructed a set of principles that are felt to be imperative for elected officials and City management to understand and embrace. By broadcasting and prioritizing a renewed, energetic set of standards that Aiken voters expect, Aiken2025 hopes to accomplish the following:
Instigating Change
The general perception is that many members of the Aiken community have become cynical and resigned, feeling that individual voters cannot make a difference. Aiken2025 seeks to transform frustration into positivity.
Higher Standards
Aiken2025 aims to put all elected and unelected officials on notice that a higher set of standards, transparency, and accountability is expected by the electorate.
Run For Office!
Aiken2025 hopes to spur qualified members of the Aiken community to consider the noble undertaking of running for elected office. We will try to demystify the process of interested contestants declaring their candidacy and running.
We will support candidates who embrace and adhere to our Standards both when running and once serving. Serve by these norms, and we'll have your back!
